Suspended defensive tackle Isaiah Golden has withdrawn from Texas A&M, but the Aggies expected him to return to the team.
Head coach Kevin Sumlin addressed the status of Golden, who was suspended indefinitely following an offseason arrest, after Thursday's practice.
"He has withdrawn from school, and we expect him back this summer," Sumlin said, via Sam Khan Jr. of ESPN.com.
Golden was arrested Feb. 22 on a misdemeanor marijuana charge after police spotted a vehicle that was illegally parked in a handicap space. Golden's teammate, Darian Claiborne, was also in the vehicle at the time and was arrested for a noise violation.
Both players were suspended indefinitely following their arrests, as per Texas A&M athletic department policy, and have yet to practice this spring.
Golden had 32 tackles, including three for a loss, in 11 games for the Aggies last season.
"He played about every snap last year," Sumlin said. "Certainly everybody would want him here at practice, but I think what's more important is that he just gets himself together and get back in the right frame of mind and be ready to go summer school-wise."
