Nebraska has fired offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, the school announced Saturday.
The move comes after the Cornhuskers lost their fourth straight game, falling 24-13 to Illinois on Friday.
"Like so many of you, I am angry, I am disappointed and I am frustrated with our results this season," Rhule said in a statement, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz. "As the head coach, I am ultimately responsible for every aspect of our program — including wins and losses — and it is my responsibility to make changes when they are warranted."
Holgorsen has held the position since 2024. The 55-year-old previously served as head coach at West Virginia from 2011 to 2018 and at Houston from 2019 to 2023 before joining the Cornhuskers.
After rolling out the gate to a 5-0 start, Nebraska now sits at 5-4 and hasn't eclipsed 20 points in a contest during its four-game losing streak. The Cornhuskers' 47.4% offensive success rate ranks eighth in the Big Ten so far this season, according to TruMedia.
Rhule now holds a 24-23 record as Nebraska's head coach since taking the job in 2023.
