Indiana survived an upset on the road Saturday at Michigan, emerging with a 13-6 overtime win in a game marked by dreadful offensive performances from both teams.
Indiana failed to complete a pass in the entire second half, attempting only two throws while leaning on the defense and clinging to a 6-0 lead. Although the Hoosiers kept Michigan out of the end zone, they allowed two field goals to send the game to an extra frame.
The teams have combined for 399 yards. The last time any game had 0 TDs and less than 400 yards in regulation came when Iowa beat South Dakota State 7-3 on 9/3/2022 when teams had 286 yards of offense

Quarterback Josh Hoover immediately set Indiana up for a walk-in touchdown in overtime following a 21-yard completion, putting the sixth-ranked Hoosiers ahead. The defense then stopped the Wolverines on the ensuing possession to secure the first win for Indiana at Michigan since 1967.
The game doubled as quarterback Tommy Carr's first career start for Michigan after the freshman came off the bench at halftime last week to help the Wolverines beat Penn State. However, his first half was one to forget, as his fumble and interception into quadruple coverage led to Indiana's field goals.
Carr settled down in the second half, completing 11 of 18 passes for 102 yards in the final 30 minutes and orchestrating two field-goal drives. Still, Michigan gained just 3 yards per play, suggesting the offensive issues aren't fixed with Carr replacing Bryce Underwood at quarterback.
Curt Cignetti's program avoided a second consecutive loss with Saturday's win after Ohio State ended the Hoosiers' 22-game winning streak last week. While the victory keeps the defending champions well in the Big Ten mix, Indiana's latest effort marks the third straight game in which the offense has struggled against a strong defense.
