No. 1 QB Elijah Haven commits to Alabama
Elijah Haven, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class, committed to Alabama on Saturday, according to Rivals' Sam Spiegelman.
Haven is a five-star recruit and sits No. 6 on the ESPN 300. Haven instantly becomes the top commitment for Kalen DeBoer's 2027 class after choosing the Crimson Tide over Georgia.
"DeBoer is a great guy and an amazing coach," Haven told Rivals. "He produces at the QB level and he's done a great job of that. With Ty (Simpson) this year, they did a helluva job this season.
"Coach DeBoer is the leading factor of that, and that definitely is reassuring to have a head coach in that position and also to be able to lead the quarterbacks in that way."
Haven stands 6-foot-5, 220 pounds and attends Dunham High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He led Dunham to a 13-1 record in 2025 as a junior, throwing for 3,931 yards while setting the state of Louisiana's single-season record with 73 total touchdowns.
Alabama is coming off an 11-4 season in which it reached the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff. With Simpson leaving for the NFL, redshirt freshman Keelon Russell and redshirt junior Austin Mack are competing for the starting quarterback job in 2026.
