Auburn lands No. 2 2025 edge rusher Smith
Defensive end Jared Smith committed to Auburn on Saturday, the 2025 prospect told On 3's Hayes Fawcett.
Smith is the second-ranked defensive end in the ESPN 300. He's also the 28th overall recruit and the number two player hailing from Alabama.
The four-star is the 13th ESPN 300 commit in Auburn's 2025 class and the second-highest ranked prospect to pledge to the program, trailing cornerback Blake Woodby (22nd overall).
The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder committed to the Tigers over Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, and USC, among others.
"I chose Auburn because I get to stay home, because of the culture and I see the vision coach Hugh Freeze has," Smith said, according to On 3's Chad Simmons. "I see where the program is going and I want to be a part of it."
