Former Texas quarterback Maalik Murphy has committed to Duke, he announced Saturday.

Murphy will immediately be eligible to play and has three years of eligibility remaining, per Thamel.
The 6-foot-5, 238-pound quarterback threw for 477 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions this season while filling in for Quinn Ewers.
Murphy started two games for the Longhorns in that stretch, leading the team to wins over Kansas State and BYU.
The Blue Devils are in the midst of significant offensive changes after starting quarterback Riley Leonard left via the transfer portal to join Notre Dame, and former head coach Mike Elko was poached for the same position at Texas A&M.
Freshman Grayson Loftis, who started in the team's 17-10 win over Troy in Saturday's Birmingham Bowl, will likely be Murphy's top competition for snaps next season under new head coach Manny Diaz.
