Colorado's first season under head coach Deion Sanders may not have been a big success on the field, but it did provide a substantial financial boost for the local economy.
The Buffaloes' six home games generated an estimated economic impact of $113.2 million during the 2023 season, according to Visit Boulder.
The amount includes an estimated direct economic impact of $72.1 million, stemming from transactions such as lodging, transportation, food and beverage, retail, and recreation. The remainder includes indirect impact, such as money spent by local businesses and employees through generated income.
The games with the biggest impact were the home opener against Nebraska on Sept. 9 and the matchup against USC on Sept. 30, which each generated $21.6 million.
Colorado finished the season 4-8, losing eight of its final nine games after a 3-0 start.
