Lincoln Riley added a key piece to the USC offense Wednesday as four-star tight end Walker Lyons announced he's signing with the Trojans.
Lyons is ranked by ESPN as the second-best in-line tight end in the Class of 2023 and the 117th-ranked overall prospect in the country. He previously committed to Stanford before flipping to USC on National Signing Day.
One wrinkle with Lyons' addition is that he won't be heading to college in the fall. The California native will be heading to Norway to fulfil a church mission before enrolling at USC for the 2024 season.
In addition to Lyons, USC also signed the nation's top-ranked quarterback in Malachi Nelson and this cycle's top two wide receiver prospects in Zachariah Branch and Makai Lemon.
