Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was arrested on a public intoxication charge Sunday morning in Dallas, police confirmed to WFAA's Rebecca Lopez.
Bennett was arrested around 6 a.m. and taken to a detention center after reports of a man banging on doors. A police release didn't confirm if the man was Bennett, Lopez adds.
Officers determined Bennett was intoxicated when they arrived, per the release. He was released from the detention center before 12 p.m. ET.
Bennett has won back-to-back national championships with the Bulldogs. He's projected to be a mid-to-late-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
