Alabama head coach Nick Saban said Friday that quarterback Bryce Young is "on track" to play Saturday against Tennessee, per ESPN's Chris Low.

A final decision will be made during pre-game warmups, as Young is battling a shoulder injury.

"He wants to play and feels like he's healthy enough to play. We'll know for sure once he gets on the field, starts throwing, and how he feels then," Saban said.

Young sprained his shoulder on Oct. 1 against Arkansas and missed Alabama's last game against Texas A&M.

Jalen Milroe filled in for Young, throwing for 111 yards and three touchdowns in Alabama's win over the Aggies.

"There's no reason to rush a quarterback back with this kind of injury," Saban added.

The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner has 90 completions for 1,202 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
