Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers will enter the transfer portal one year after signing with the Buckeyes as a five-star recruit, sources told Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.

The Southlake, Texas native is expected to consider Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech as potential destinations, according to Thamel.

Initially a 2022 prospect, Ewers reclassified and enrolled at Ohio State a year ahead of schedule. He spent his freshman campaign on the bench while C.J. Stroud, another freshman, ran with the starting job.

Ewers made headlines before the season when he inked a multi-year NIL deal believed to be worth over $1 million with autograph dealer GT Sports Marketing. He also reportedly signed agreements with Ricart Automotive, which gifted him a new truck, and Holy Kombucha.

Ewers may now consider going to Texas, where he was once committed as a highly coveted prospect at Carroll Senior High School. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian said at the end of the season that his program needed to address the quarterback position and would be open to doing so through the transfer market.

The Aggies and Red Raiders also face some degree of uncertainty at quarterback.
