USC star Drake London suffered a potential season-ending ankle injury in the team's win over Arizona, head coach Donte Williams said Saturday, according to The Athletic's Antonio Morales.
The wide receiver was carted off the field in the first half, and later returned to the sideline with a cast and crutches.
Drake was injured on a touchdown, as Arizona's Christian Roland-Wallace came down on his ankle while tackling him into the end zone. Drake put no weight on his right leg as trainers helped him to the cart.
The junior entered the affair as the nation's second-leading receiver, trailing only Jerreth Sterns of Western Kentucky. He posted nine catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns against the Wildcats before exiting.
Drake has been a bright spot for USC throughout what has otherwise been a miserable 2021 campaign. The Moorpark, California, native notched at least 130 yards in six of his first seven appearances this season and had double-digit receptions in five games.
Drake and Sterns are the only receivers in the country who entered Saturday with over 1,000 yards. Drake also came into the day ranked second nationwide in receptions to Sterns.
