It was a dramatic Saturday for Washington State, as the Cougars posted a comeback win over Stanford in the contest's final minutes.
It also may serve as head coach Nick Rolovich's final game with the program, as the State of Washington's mandate that employees be vaccinated goes into effect Monday. Rolovich is not vaccinated but has applied for a religious exemption to allow him to continue coaching at the school.
"I'm going to come to work tomorrow, get ready for BYU," he said postgame, according to Colton Clark of the Spokesman-Review. "I don't think this is in my hands. I've been settled for a long time on it. I believe it's going to work out the right way."
Rolovich earns over $3 million per year, which makes him Washington's highest-paid state employee. He's the only unvaccinated head coach in the Pac-12, but a number of coaches on his staff have also opted against the vaccine, according to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.
After starting the season 1-3, the Cougars have run off three straight wins heading into next week's contest against BYU.
