Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough will miss at least six weeks with a broken collarbone, head coach Matt Wells said Sunday, according to Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

The Oregon transfer suffered the injury Saturday in a loss to Texas.

Shough joined the Red Raiders this season after spending three years on the Oregon campus. He earned the starting role through a preseason battle with Henry Colombi.

The junior threw for 872 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions in his first four games this year. He started all seven contests at Oregon in 2020, helping the Ducks reach the Fiesta Bowl.

Texas Tech won its first three games before falling to Texas. The Red Raiders will hit the road to face West Virginia on Oct. 2.
