LSU's Brennan not expected to play vs. South Carolina
LSU quarterback Myles Brennan appears unlikely to take the field for Saturday's game against South Carolina as he continues to battle a lower-body injury.
"We don't think that Myles Brennan is going to be able to play," Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron told reporters Wednesday, according to 247 Sports' Billy Embody.
Orgeron noted a final decision hasn't been made and said Brennan won't have an official designation for the game until the end of the week.
The junior was banged up after taking a first-half hit against Missouri on Oct. 10. He was listed as doubtful for his team's game against Florida last week, but the contest was pushed back due to the Gators' COVID-19 outbreak.
LSU will turn to freshmen TJ Finley and Max Johnson if Brennan can't suit up. Neither has played a snap this season.
"We like Myles. But hey, I'm telling you, these two young quarterbacks are great players," Orgeron said. "I'm anxious to see what they can do. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, Myles is our starting quarterback."
Brennan has passed for 1,112 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions through three games this season.
