Every week during the college football season, we'll be recapping what bettors may have missed over the weekend.

Here's what stood out in Week 7.

Florida State's offense can't adjust

Florida State somehow found a way to salvage its season on Saturday with a win over No. 5 North Carolina. Frankly, head coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles were fortunate to survive.

Florida State was blanked 21-0 in the second half, yet still hung on to a 31-28 win. Second-half struggles have been a common theme for the Seminoles: they're getting outscored by 10.5 points per game after halftime against FBS opponents and are averaging just four points on offense, far and away the worst clip in the entire country.

Feel free to fade Florida State in the second half from here on out.

Put Houston on the no-bet list

Unless you have a clear read on Houston, I'd suggest slotting the program on your no-bet list. Head coach Dana Holgorson has put my brain in a pretzel on what the program's identity is.

His offense is elite, yet he'll change up tempos. This past weekend against BYU, Holgorson stuck to the ground game despite having an advantage on the perimeter.

I want to think Houston's a good bet this season following a rebuild in 2019, but Holgorson's making that difficult. I have no choice but to stand on the sideline until I can get a better read.

Fade Syracuse's defense

A banged-up Syracuse defense just gave up 38 points in back-to-back games ... to Liberty and Duke. It's going to get a whole lot worse, too.

The Orange have actually had a pretty weak strength of opposing offenses so far, yet are allowing close to 30 points per game this season. What's going to happen when Syracuse plays the likes of Clemson, Louisville, Notre Dame, and NC State down the stretch?

Needless to say, there'll be plenty of crooked numbers hung on the Orange.

Alabama is officially an over team

How high can you set Alabama totals? After combing for 111 points with Ole Miss last weekend, the Crimson Tide walked all over Georgia's top-tier defense to a convincing 41-24 win.

The two clubs had no problem cashing the total of 58.5, which moved 'Bama to 4-0 on overs in 2020. I'd expect another high-scoring game this weekend against Tennessee, as six of the last eight meetings have gone over the total.
