North Carolina lands 5-star CB Tony Grimes
Five-star recruit and top-ranked cornerback Tony Grimes announced his commitment Tuesday to North Carolina.
Grimes is the second five-star prospect headed to the Tar Heels in 2021, as defensive end Keeshawn Silver previously committed to the program.

Grimes will join North Carolina by way of Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia - his hometown. The 6-foot defensive back ranks sixth overall on the ESPN 300.
The addition of Grimes bolsters a Tar Heels recruiting class that was already widely considered one of the best in the nation and previously garnered the No. 4 ranking from ESPN. North Carolina has experienced a recruiting renaissance since hiring Hall of Fame head coach Mack Brown in November 2018.
"I got to meet Coach Mack Brown, and Coach Mack Brown is a legend," Grimes told ESPN's Tom VanHaaren before his announcement. "He wins. He has titles on his belt. Coach Mack Brown is an amazing head coach, he's a winning coach and has a winning program."
Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas A&M were the other finalists for Grimes.
