Hubbard threatens to cut ties with Oklahoma State over Gundy's OAN shirt
Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard threatened to cut ties with the school Monday in a tweet after seeing Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy wearing a One America News Network T-shirt.
OAN is a controversial far-right news channel in the U.S.
I will not stand for this.. This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable. I will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE. https://t.co/psxPn4Khoq

Hubbard is the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for an NCAA-high 2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2019.
The running back quickly garnered support from linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, one of Oklahoma State's best defensive players:
I stand with him! https://t.co/WWOs2ALxml

Oklahoma State president Burns Hargis responded Monday on Twitter. However, he didn't specify whether or how the school would react.
I hear and respect the concerns expressed by our Black student-athletes. This is a time for unity of purpose to confront racial inequities and injustice. We will not tolerate insensitive behavior by anyone at Oklahoma State.

In April, Gundy talked to reporters about OAN for 20 minutes, calling the news network "refreshing" compared to mainstream outlets.
"They just report the news," said Gundy, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports. "There's no commentary. There's no opinions. There's no left. There's no right."
Gundy also courted controversy earlier in the offseason due to COVID-related comments. The head coach was forced to apologize in April after saying he hoped to have his players back on campus by May 1, a proposed timetable that would've defied the federal social-distancing guidelines at the time.
