Jeff Tedford announced his resignation as Fresno State head coach on Friday for health-related reasons.

Indiana offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer could be a leading candidate to take over, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports.

Tedford produced 22 regular-season victories and two bowl wins in his first two seasons in charge of his alma mater. The team also ended the 2018 campaign at No. 18 in the final Associated Press poll.

Fresno State disappointed this season this year, however, finishing 4-8. The 58-year-old will leave with an overall record of 26-14.

While serving as Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator in 2014, Tedford experienced heart problems and underwent surgery.
