Pryor arrested after being stabbed, woman charged with attempted homicide
Free-agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor was stabbed in his Pittsburgh apartment and taken to a hospital early Saturday morning in critical condition, Pittsburgh police confirmed.
The 30-year-old is in stable condition after undergoing surgery, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Pryor was stabbed in his shoulder and chest, sources told Action News 4 and ESPN's Adam Schefter.
A 24-year-old woman, Shalaya Briston, has been arrested and charged with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault, according to Pittsburgh police. Pryor was also arrested and faces a charge of simple assault.
Pittsburgh police described Briston and Pryor as "mutual combatants," saying the former also received injuries during the altercation.
Pryor entered the league in 2011 as a quarterback with the Oakland Raiders, but he changed positions later in his career. He's suited up for four other teams as a receiver.
He hasn't played in 2019 after being cut during Jacksonville Jaguars training camp.
