A controversial ending to the game's final drive gave No. 23 California a wild 28-20 win over Ole Miss on Saturday.
The Rebels trailed by eight with less than a minute remaining. Backup quarterback John Rhys Plumlee led his team on a 90-yard drive down the field with a chance to tie the game.
With 17 seconds left, Plumlee hit receiver Elijah Moore with what appeared to be a touchdown pass. However, the referee marked Moore just short of the goal line.
The play wasn't reviewed and the clock continued to run, forcing Ole Miss to frantically rush to the line to attempt a QB sneak.

Plumlee, who entered the game in the fourth quarter after starter Matt Corral injured himself on a pass attempt, couldn't break the plane, giving California the dramatic victory.
Following the game, Ole Miss interim athletics director Keith Carter released a statement responding to the late-game officiating.
