Alabama linebacker and defensive captain Dylan Moses suffered a torn ACL during practice Tuesday and is out for the year, sources told Matt Zenitz of AL.com.
Moses was entering his junior season after posting 86 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a forced fumble as a sophomore.
He was a finalist for the Butkus Award last year and was then named a preseason first-team All-American. Moses was also one of just six returning defensive starters for the Crimson Tide.
It's a major blow to Alabama's hopes of reclaiming the national championship after losing to Clemson in the title game last year.
