Dana Holgorsen's time at West Virginia appears to be over, as he's expected to become the next head coach at Houston, sources told Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.

It is expected that Holgorsen will receive a five-year contract in the neighborhood of $20 million. The deal will likely be finished in the next 36 hours, according to Feldman.

Holgorsen comes to Houston after eight seasons with West Virginia in which he led the Mountaineers to a bowl game every year except 2013. He compiled a 61-41 record while going 38-32 in Big 12 conference play.

Houston fired Major Applewhite on Sunday after two-plus seasons at the helm. Applewhite went 15-11 during his tenure with the Cougars, including an 8-5 record this past season as he failed to reach the heights established by previous coach Tom Herman.
