UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton was carted off the field Friday versus South Florida after suffering a gruesome leg injury early in the second quarter of the Knights' 38-10 win.

Knights head coach Josh Heupel did not provide a diagnosis post-game but indicated that Milton suffered a "tramautic" injury, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.

The star junior was hit in the knee area at the end of a designed play. Players from both teams gathered around Milton as he laid on the ground awaiting medical attention.

"It breaks your heart for a kid that's worked so hard to go out there and compete, loves his brothers and plays for them," Heupel said.

Milton was motored off the gridiron as the Knights continued their push towards a second consecutive perfect season. He entered the final week of the regular season with 2,577 yards and 24 touchdowns through the air against just five interceptions.
