Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert is in the concussion protocol and his status for this Saturday's game against UCLA is unknown, Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal said Monday.
"Any time someone seems to have taken on a hit, we're always going to take the highest-level standard in terms of assessing guys to make sure safety is at the forefront, the priority," Cristobal told reporters, including Kyle Bonagura of ESPN.
Wide receiver Dillon Mitchell, Herbert's top target this season, is also in the concussion protocol. He has 48 receptions for 677 yards and four touchdowns this season.
Both Ducks players were injured during Saturday's 44-15 loss to Arizona.
Herbert, one of the top draft-eligible quarterbacks, has completed 155 of 260 pass attempts for 2,069 yards and 20 touchdowns.
