Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger has an AC sprain in his throwing shoulder and will undergo an MRI to make sure there is no ligament damage, head coach Tom Herman said Saturday, according to Anwar Richardson of Rivals.
Ehlinger exited the Longhorns' win over Baylor in the first half after suffering the injury and didn't return. The sophomore entered the day with 1,499 yards passing along with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions.
Herman said he's optimistic Ehlinger will resume throwing by the end of the week. The Longhorns are entering their bye and don't play again until Oct. 27.
Texas escaped Baylor's upset bid in Austin, holding off the Bears 23-17.
