A week after he made a momentum-swinging tackle on special teams in the national championship game versus Georgia, linebacker Mekhi Brown is transferring from Alabama.

The sophomore, and former top-100 recruit, is set to land at Tennessee State, where he was granted admission more than a month before the title game, according to Mike Organ of the Tennessean.

In addition to his eye-popping takedown of a Georgia returner in kickoff coverage, Brown gained notoriety during the championship affair for punching a Bulldogs player and then shoving one of his own coaches during a tantrum on the sideline.

The Columbus, Ga., native made most of his contributions to the Crimson Tide on special teams.
