Alabama's defense didn't waste any time making an impact in Monday's national championship game.

On the very first offensive drive of the game, Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm looked deep for wideout Javon Wims on third down, but Alabama defensive back Tony Brown had other ideas. Brown managed to rip the ball away from Wims for a highlight-reel interception that gave the Crimson Tide possession.

Alabama marched down the field on the subsequent drive, but failed to convert on a 40-yard field-goal attempt by Andy Pappanastos after a successful 35-yard kick was nullified due to an offside penalty.
