Well-traveled Ricky Town heading east with Pitt transfer

Ricky Town's college journey will add another stop next season, as the well-traveled quarterback is transferring to Pitt.

Town's private quarterback coach Donovan Dooley confirmed the move to Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports after his pupil visited Pitt this weekend.

Town, who spent this season in the junior college ranks at Ventura College, was a highly touted prospect in the 2015 class who originally committed to Alabama before changing his mind and heading to USC.

He didn't last long with the Trojans, leaving the west coast for Arkansas before playing a game with USC. The change of scenery couldn't lead to more playing time, as Town opted to leave the Razorbacks after two seasons on the sidelines.

He surfaced back home in California at Ventura College, completing 60 percent of his passes for 1,160 yards and 12 touchdowns this year.

Despite his travels, Town still has two seasons of eligibility left for the Panthers to use. The move will also mark the second straight season that Pitt has added a former USC quarterback, after Max Browne played the 2017 campaign as a grad transfer.
