Florida State officially named Willie Taggart the 10th full-time head coach in program history Tuesday, shortly after the 41-year-old confirmed he was leaving Oregon to take over the Seminoles.

The native Floridian signed a six-year contract worth $30 million with the Seminoles, a source told Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.

Taggart was rumored to be Florida State's top choice to replace the departed Jimbo Fisher, but insisted to reporters in Eugene that he had no plans to leave Oregon.

His departure from the Ducks wasn't because of any issues with the school, but rather because he felt he couldn't pass up the chance to return to his home state, reports Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated.

Taggart compiled a 7-5 record in his lone campaign at Oregon. He spent four seasons as the head coach of South Florida before going to the Pac-12 program.
