National title odds: Alabama retains top spot ahead of Clemson, Ohio State

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama has steamrolled anything and everything in its path through the first month of the season, putting a stranglehold on its position as the odds-on favorite to win this year's national championship.

However, one of the many beauties of sports is that any team can win on any given day, and a number of other teams could make things tough for Alabama come championship time.

Here are the title odds for the 10 most favored teams, according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook:

Team Opening Odds Current Odds
Alabama 3-1 6-5
Clemson 20-1 4-1
Ohio State 8-1 8-1
Oklahoma 8-1 10-1
Michigan 12-1 15-1
Penn State 25-1 15-1
USC 8-1 15-1
Washington 30-1 15-1
Georgia 30-1 18-1
Wisconsin 40-1 20-1

Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma all find themselves represented with favorable odds, while Michigan, Penn State, USC, and Washington are deadlocked just behind.

A number of early-season threats have taken a swan dive from the top of the board, as Florida State, Louisville, and LSU have ballooned from inside the 15-1 mark to 100-1, 100-1 and 300-1, respectively.
