San Diego State in search of new stadium for 2019 season

San Diego State could find itself homeless after the 2018 season if it can't find a new stadium to play in.

The Aztecs' contract with Qualcomm Stadium is set to expire following next season, according to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, and an unnamed Power-5 official said San Diego State will be "in no man's land" two years from now if a partnership isn't established.

Speaking to reporters at Mountain West Media Days on Wednesday, head coach Rocky Long acknowledged the looming potential relocation, but admitted there isn't much he can do.

"I don't worry about it because I have no control over it," Long said. "I do have confidence in it, that something is going to get done."

The university does have options, including re-upping with Qualcomm, or even a move to the San Diego Padres' home of Petco Park, although a willingness to turn the baseball stadium into a dual-sport venue is unlikely.
