Oregon announced the indefinite suspension of wide receiver Darren Carrington on Saturday morning, hours after he was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
He was taken into custody at 3:15 a.m. local time after crashing into a McDonald's drive-thru, a police spokesperson told Andrew Grief of The Oregonian. He was released from jail hours later after posting bail.
Carrington, who caught 43 passes for 606 yards and five touchdowns as a junior, is slated to be the team's most productive returning receiver, though an ominous Instagram post suggested his future with the program is in jeopardy:
The San Diego native has been involved in several off-field incidents since arriving at Oregon as a four-star recruit in the 2013 class.
The Ducks host Southern Utah on Sept. 2 to begin the 2017 campaign.
