LaVar Ball once cracked NFL training, practice rosters

As LaVar Ball dominated sports debates across all media, NFL fans could at least find solace in the fact he had nothing to do with football.
That no longer appears to be the case.
The outspoken father of college basketball star Lonzo Ball signed with the New York Jets as a free agent in 1994 and spent time with the team during training camp, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
In 1995, Ball was a forgettable member of the Carolina Panthers' practice squad, Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer writes.
Ball entered camp with the Jets as a defensive end. The next season, he was listed as a tight end with the Panthers.
Considering his recent boasts, he was likely a star two-position, two-sport athlete.
