Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough suffered a broken bone in his right leg during Monday's national championship, head coach Nick Saban confirmed Tuesday, according to CollegeFootballTalk.
Scarbrough left the game in the third quarter after going down with the injury on a tackle.
The sophomore had a pair of touchdowns against Clemson, but Alabama couldn't maintain its lead when Scarbrough exited.
Scarbrough was a major catalyst in helping the Crimson Tide reach the title game, averaging more than 8 yards per carry in the SEC championship and 9.5 yards in the semifinal while combining for four touchdowns.
