Less than 12 hours after becoming Oklahoma's all-time leading rusher, Samaje Perine announced he's skipping his senior season and will enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

"Playing for Oklahoma has been an incredible experience," Perine said in a statement. "I am so grateful for the opportunity and everyone who has been a part of it. That being said, after much consideration, I have decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft."

Perine broke Billy Sims' all-time Sooners record with an 86-yard performance against Auburn in Monday night's Sugar Bowl. That gave the junior 4,122 yards in his Oklahoma career - four more than the legendary Sims.

The 5-foot-10, 235-pounder has been a star for Oklahoma since stepping on campus in 2014, rushing for 1,713 yards in his freshman campaign, including an NCAA-record 427 yards against Kansas.

In three seasons with Oklahoma, Perine scored an incredible 52 total touchdowns on 5.9 yards per carry.
