Ex-Notre Dame QB Clausen, fans put Brian Kelly on blast
Notre Dame suffered yet another loss Saturday, this time to a Stanford team that was without Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey - and plenty of people had something to say about it.
One of those concerned parties was former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who ripped into head coach Brian Kelly for his decision to temporarily bench starting quarterback DeShone Kizer in favor of Malik Zaire.
The Fighting Irish head coach pulled Kizer after his second interception of the night in the third quarter, and only reinserted him for the final drive, when he took consecutive sacks as the clock ticked down to zero.
Clausen wasn't shy in voicing his opinion, but subsequently chose to clarify his feelings toward Kelly.
