Oregon and new uniforms isn't exactly earth-shattering news, but this week the fresh duds will be a part of a state history lesson.
The school will honor its past with a special combination uniform this week against Washington, and the nickname 'Ducks' won't appear anywhere.
The program was regularly called 'the Webfoots' until the mid 1960's, a term given to people who lived in wet conditions, and something that became synonymous with Oregonians. The team will wear uniforms honoring this time from its history.
The name was first associated with the team by a local newspaper, before a game with Pacific in 1894, when the forecast predicted a muddy field.
The shoulders feature “The Mighty Oregon March” lyrics, the school's fight song.
