Giants select Bednar, CWS Most Outstanding Player, No. 14 overall

With the 14th pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, the San Francisco Giants selected right-hander Will Bednar out of Mississippi State.
Bednar is fresh off winning the College World Series and earning Most Outstanding Player honors while allowing three runs on five hits and six walks and striking out 26 batters over 18 1/3 innings across three starts. He also took the bump in the decisive game against Vanderbilt, holding the reigning champs hitless over six frames while on three days of rest.
