Watch: LSU's Hess throws slider so nasty his catcher can't handle it
Steven Branscombe / USA TODAY Sports
LSU's Zack Hess has been turning heads at the College World Series, and added another great outing to his resume Friday with the save against top-ranked Oregon State.
Hess - who's been dubbed "Wild Thing" because his haircut resembles the one Charlie Sheen rocked in the film "Major League" - has broken off mind-bending sliders on more than one occasion, including this one that his catcher couldn't keep up with.
After getting drafted out of high school in the 35th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, the 6-foot-6 right-hander stayed with his commitment to LSU.
