Owner of top March Madness bracket forgets to pick winner
If you ever fill out a bracket for March Madness, don't do what James Kiki did.
Kiki is currently in first place out of more than 3 million entries in Yahoo's contest. He had seven of the Elite Eight right and aced the Final Four. The problem?
He forgot to pick the winner.
"I don't even want to think about it," Kiki told Matthew Fairburn of Syracuse.com.
Kiki, a refugee from South Sudan, had never filled out a bracket before, and didn't even realize how well he was doing until recently checking his account and seeing messages from other participants.
"I've been watching the games, but I didn't even know what teams I picked," he said. "It's crazy."
Kiki had a real chance to win the $50,000 prize, but since he left the winner blank, he'll have to wait until next year.
"I haven't even thought about filling one out next year," he said. "If I do, I'm going to make sure everything is saved before I hit submit."
