Marvin Bagley III, the No. 1 ranked recruit in the class of 2018, has been deemed ineligible to play this season due to an "athletically motivated transfer," according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
Earlier in January, Bagley enrolled at Sierra Canyon School in California after playing at Hillcrest Hoops academy in Arizona in November.
California Interscholastic Federation eligibility rules state "a student may not be eligible to participate if there is evidence the move was athletically motivated or the student enrolled in that school in whole or in part for athletic reasons."
The 6-foot-10 forward has already been recruited by powerhouses like Kentucky, Duke, Arizona, and Kansas, but won't be able to take the court again until January 2017.
