Texas, Nike agree to record-setting $250M apparel deal

Texas, Nike agree to record-setting $250M apparel deal

Dane Belbeck

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this month, it was announced Texas and Nike agreed to a massive apparel deal, and the actual numbers have been released.

The Texas Board of Regents have unanimously approved a 15-year deal with Nike worth $250 million, smashing the previous record of Michigan's 15-year, $169-million agreement, also with Nike.

The deal, which was $50 million more than previously assumed, makes sense for the billion-dollar company, as the Longhorns have led the nation in merchandise sales for the last nine years.
