UCLA freshman forward Jonah Bolden will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks after tearing his meniscus, Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register reports.

A UCLA spokesman told Kaufman it was a "slight" tear and the freshman forward underwent arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday.

The Australian was deemed ineligible to play in 2014-15 by the NCAA after coming to UCLA from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. He was the 32nd-ranked prospect in his recruiting class, according to Rivals.com.

The 6-foot-10 forward, who began practicing with the team in January, is expected to help fill the void left by outgoing forward Kevon Looney, who entered the 2015 NBA Draft.
