Cincinnati's Cronin to watch Kentucky game from Rick Pitino's office
Cincinnati's Mick Cronin has not been allowed to coach since being diagnosed with arterial dissection, a non-life-threatening vascular disease. Larry Davis has coached the Bearcats in Cronin's stead, including their 66-65 tournament-opening win over Purdue.
Unable to coach, Cronin watched that game from his hotel room in Louisville, but will have an extra special location to watch Saturday's showdown with undefeated Kentucky.
Where exactly is that?
"At the arena. Rick Pitino's office, by myself," Cronin said in a text to The Enquirer.
Win or lose, Cincinnati will be leaving Louisville on Saturday night, so watching in the hotel room again wasn't an option for Cronin. Pitino offering up his office inside the KFC Yum! Center is a kind gesture, and if the Bearcats manage to eliminate the heavily favored Wildcats, Pitino will have a little extra reason to smile.
