No. 2 prospect in 2023 class Kwame Evans commits to Oregon
Kwame Evans Jr., the No. 2 recruit in ESPN's 2023 class rankings, has committed to Oregon, he announced on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
The 6-foot-9 forward chose the Ducks over Arizona, Kentucky, and Auburn.
"I feel like it fits me the best and gives me the best chance to go to the NBA. It felt like family since day one," Evans said.
Evans currently plays at powerhouse Montverde Academy, where he's preparing to enter his senior season. Known as a versatile player with solid perimeter skills for his size, the Baltimore, Maryland, native is working on adding strength to his long switchable frame.
Oregon has now landed a 5-star prospect for the third-straight season after picking up big man Kel'el Ware in the 2022 class and forward Nate Bittle in 2021.
This also marks the second top-100 signee for Oregon for 2023 after gaining a commitment from guard Jackson Shelstad.
