Florida State picks up top international recruit Miller

Baba Miller, one of the top international prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, will play at Florida State next season, he told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

Miller chose the Seminoles over Gonzaga after visiting both schools last week.

"I could see an actual family at Florida State," Miller said. "I saw a very close relationship between everyone. That was a big part of my decision."

The 18-year-old Spaniard has played for powerhouse European club Real Madrid's junior teams since he was 12, even suiting up for the senior team during a contest in December.

At 6-foot-11, Miller has the size and athletic ability to play forward while also being regarded as a high-level shooter. His desire to play positionless basketball was a draw to Florida State after having fellow skilled wings Scottie Barnes, Patrick Williams, and Devin Vassell drafted in recent seasons.

"The style of play matches mine with my abilities and the freedom that they gave their players to make plays at any position," Miller said.

Coach Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles had a down season in 2021-22, finishing with just a 17-14 record and missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.
