NCAA tourney star Obanor picks Texas Tech as transfer destination

Rising senior forward Kevin Obanor is transferring to Texas Tech, he announced Friday.
The 6-foot-8 big man authored a strong, three-game run with 15th-seeded Oral Roberts in the NCAA Tournament this spring. He averaged 23.3 points and 11 rebounds per game, including 30 and 11 in the team's first-round upset over No. 2 Ohio State.
Overall, Obanor averaged 18.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, with 46.3% shooting on over four 3-point attempts per contest in 2020-21.
The Red Raiders are coming off an 18-11 season and second-round finish in March Madness. The program finished as the runner-up for the national title in 2019.
