The Big East and Big Ten conferences announced Wednesday that this year's Gavitt Tipoff Games have been canceled due to scheduling and timing issues presented by the delayed start to the 2020-21 NCAA basketball season.

The games were originally slated to take place from Nov. 16-20 but will not be rescheduled after the NCAA delayed the start of the men's Division I season until Nov. 25 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Gavitt Tipoff Games feature teams from both conferences facing off against each other. The event has been played each year since 2015 and is named after Dave Gavitt, the late founder of the Big East.
