LSU men's basketball coach Will Wade was involved with impermissible payments to at least 11 potential Tigers recruits or others around them, according to documents obtained by ESPN's Mark Schlabach.

The allegations of compliance violations were included in an NCAA request that its case against the LSU program be adjudicated through the Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP).

"(Wade) is employed in a leadership position at LSU, yet the institution has been unable to secure his full cooperation and is accountable for his behavior," NCAA vice president of enforcement Jonathan Duncan wrote in a letter, according to Schlabach.

Wade was named as a part of the 2017-18 NCAA corruption scandal, and was recorded on wiretaps discussing payments with former player manager Christian Dawkins - who was later sentenced to a year in jail. Wade was suspended by LSU for the 2019 NCAA tournament, but was later reinstated.

In an HBO documentary about the scandal, Dawkins applauded Wade for avoiding criminal charges and managing to keep his job.

"Just the audacity. You've got to take your hat off to him, man," Dawkins said in the film. "He not only didn't get charged for anything, not only did the government have all of this information and evidence and nothing was happening on a criminal level, he also basically just said 'fuck you' to the NCAA and the university he worked for ... and he still got to keep his job and make millions of dollars ... Will Wade is definitely a fucking gangster for what he did."
